A joint delegation of the office bearers Kashmir and Jammu University Teachers’ Associations met the chief minister Omar Abdullah in Jammu.
A KUTA spokesman said the delegation impressed upon the CM to implement sixth pay commission recommendation in two universities in toto as per the UGC scheme. “The chief minister assured quick and positive action and promised taking up the matter in the next meetings of university councils of both the Universities,” the spokesman said, adding the delegation impressed on implementing the age of superannuation recommendations in both the universities which will facilitate total funding for increase in salaries and arrears from the University Grants Commission. “The delegation also requested the chief minister not to equate university services with that of the state employees keeping in view the different recruitment policies and condition of service in the university,” he said.
