Bank D.A. likely to rise sharply from August'12

With the CPI shoot up 91 points (Base Year 1960 = 100)  in April this year, the Bankers are expecting handsome rise in Dearness Allowance for Aug/Sep/Oct. We can calculate the actual increase only after getting the data for May and June which will be published on the last day of June and July respectively. But still, as we are being flooded away with queries from Bankers, it can be predicted a hefty rise of 5 to 6% provided the inflation sustains in the current level
As it is too early to do the guesswork, kindly wait for the updates which will be provided in due course.

No D.A. for Bengal employees at present, F.M. disappoints.

West Bengal employees are not likely to get any new Dearness Allowance in near future. They are already lagging behind 20% in respect of the Central and neighboring state Govt. employees.  W.B. Finance Minister yesterday expressed his inability to grant further installment of D.A. He was talking to the representative of the staff unions. Due to the current gloomy condition of state economy, the remaining part of pay commission arrears  also can not be disbursed now, said the union representatives, quoting the F.M.
The centre is likely to announce fresh installment of D.A. @7% with effect from 1st July current year , the differences is going to soar up 27%.
In the time of high price rise and inflation, the employees find it very difficult to manage their livelihood without the Dearness Allowance and the Congress led association threatens agitation.  The CPI(M) influenced Co ordination Committee, the largest association of the state Govt. employees was not invited in this meeting.

Central D.A. from July'12 may be 7% again.

Subject to AICIN data for the next two months remaining in the current level, the following assumption is being made.
The AICPIN data for April 12 has been recently published. It rises to 4 points and reached 205. We know that D.A. is calculated on the basis for 12 months average. To calculate the D.A. payable from 1st July 2012, we need the figures of May and June 2012 which are to be released on 30.06.12 and 31.07.12 respectively. If the data remains for the next two months in the same level, i.e. 205, the hike will be 7%. Even if it marginally drops  1 point in any of the months, the rise will be still 7% which will take the total D.A. to 72%.
Considering the latest hike in petrol price, it is unlikely that the index may drop in the next months. So we can guess the next D.A. hike @7%, revising our previous guess work.
