Andhra Pradesh appoints chairman of new pay commission

Hyderabad, Feb 28 (PTI) The Andhra Pradesh government today appointed retired bureaucrat P K Agarwal as chairman of the new Pay Revision Commission.This follows a demand by the AP Non-Gazetted Officers' Association for constitution of the PRC.
The Association served a strike notice to the government recently in support of its demand and also announced a 'Chalo Hyderabad' agitation programme.
Giving into the demand, the government today announced the constitution of PRC with Agarwal as the head.

EPF interest rate for 2012-13 hiked to 8.5%

Retirement fund body EPFO on Monday decided to pay 8.5 per cent interest rate to its over 5 crore subscribers on their PF deposits for 2012-13, higher than 8.25 per cent provided in the previous fiscal.
The decision was taken at the meeting of the Central Board of Trustees (CBT), the highest decision making body of the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO).

Bank Xth BPS : 1st meeting held on 22.02.13

 A brief of the meeting reports indicates as follows:-
 (a) IBA team was represented by Shri K R Kamath, CMD, PNB and UFBU was represented by leaders of 9 constituent unions
 (b) Both of them agreed that negotiations should be expedited and concluded in a time bound manner;
 (c) Now the Negotiating Committee will be headed by Mr T M Bhasin, CMD Indian Bank, who is also Vice Chairman of IBA

Talks with Govt yield no result, 2 days' strike to commence tomorrow

Ahead of strike, ICSE reschedules three exams, Maharashtra does not.

Eleven Central trade unions tonight stuck to their call for a 

two-day nation-wide strike from Wednesday after talks 

with senior ministers convened at the instance of Prime Minister 

failed.

Rejecting the prime minister’s appeal yesterday to the unions to call of the stir, the trade unions said the panel of ministers failed to give then any concrete proposal and that not even one of their demands were accepted.

PM appeals to call off strike, offers talks

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today(17.02.13) appealed to protesting central Trade Unions to withdraw their proposed two-day strike from February 20 saying it would cause loss to economy besides inconvenience to people and offered talks.
Protesting against government's "inaction" on price rise and alleged violation of labour laws, 11 central trade unions and workers' federation have called for a two-day nationwide strike starting from February 20.

Discussion with Govt. failed, TWO DAYS' STRIKE ON.

All Trade union leaders unanimously decided to go ahead with the Strike on 20 and 21st February.
Cabinet Minister for Labour Shri Mallikarjun Kharge and Minister of States for Labour Shri Kodikkunnil Suresh held discussion with Central Trade Union leaders on 13.02.2013 on the Charter of Demands.

Discussion failed as Government is not ready to concede the demands.

All Trade union leaders unanimously decided to go ahead with the Strike.

AIRF (ALL INDIA RAILWAYMEN'S FEDERATION) has extended its support to General Strike proposed by the Central Trade Unions on 20th and 21st, Feb., 2013
Bank employees and officers are also joining the two days' strike.

IBA has called United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU) for commencement of discussion / negotiations on Xth Wage Revision on 22nd February, 2013 at  Mumbai.
UFBU has demanded earlier to IBA for early commencement of talks on BPS.

IBA issued circular for D.A. for employees, Dearness Relief for pensioners

IBA acted promptly to issue Dearness Allowance circular for staff for the period of February'12 to April'12. The hike will be 25 slabs as calculated earlier.
It has also issued circular for effecting increase in Dearness Relief to pensioners for the period of February'12 to July'12.
