Bihar government has decided in principle to give university non-teaching staff a revised pay scale on the basis of Sixth Pay Commission report. The Human Resource Department had constituted a high-level fitment committee to make draft of the proposal. The proposal is now ready with the committee.
The committee has made three demands: pay revision as per sixth pay commission to all non-teaching staff of five Bihar universities, to provide ACP benefit with fifth pay commission and MACP benefit with the sixth pay commission.
A total of 7500 non-teaching personnel and 1,000 retired personnel of the five Bihar universities will get an average hike of Rs 4000 per month.
This proposal is for the personnel of Ranchi University, Vinoba Bhave University, Siddho-Kanho University, Kolhan University and Nilambar-Ptambar University.
Currently, the minimum basic salary is Rs 4000- Rs 6000 and maximum Rs 5500- Rs 9000. After the sixth pay commission recommendations will come into force, the minimum basic salary will be Rs 5200-Rs 20,400 and the maximum salary will be Rs 9300-Rs 37,400.
