Resentment prevails among the doctors working under the Punjab Government including PCMS & Medical Teachers over the delay in releasing the Punjab Pay Commission Report.
In a joint statement, Dr. DC Sharma, General Secretary Senior PCMS Association Punjab & Dr DS Bhullar, Chairman In-Service Doctors Wing of the state branch of Indian Medical Association, have demanded that the state government should release the report with immediate effect as it is a discrimination with Punjab Government employees.
The Central Services Officers like IAS & IPS serving under the Punjab government are not only getting much higher revised emoluments but have already drawn arrears to the tune of crores of rupees whereas the employees of the Punjab government serving in the same state are yet to get their pay scales revised. The leaders have demanded that instead of wasting time on the Punjab Pay Commission report, the government should implement in toto the report of
Sixth Central Pay Commission in the amended form as has been implemented for the central government health services doctors and the medical teachers in the AIIMS & PGI Chandigarh. This should cover the pay pattern & the promotional avenues at all levels. They have further demanded that to compensate the senior officers for longer duration of service, the formula of bunching of increments should also be implemented.
