Banking operations are not likely to be totally affected by tomorrow's strike called by central trade unions, as officers from the State Bank of India as also from other banks, will not join the strike.
"Bank officers will not join the general strike call given by central trade unions tomorrow," All India State Bank Officers' Federation and All India Bank Officers' Confederation General Secretary G D Nadaf said in a statement here.
The officers federation would, however, extend "fraternal support" to the striking workers, he said.
According to him, only two bank unions - the All India Bank Employees Association (AIBEA) and Bank Employees Federation of India (BEFI) - are participating in tomorrow's strike.

RBI employees got their pay revision. Basic pay starts from Rs.8010 from May 2010( Rs.7010 from November 2007). 50 litre petrol, LFC by air before retirement, furnishing grant of Rs.30 K are some of new facilities being offered. Seems like a better pay package than commercial bank, of course they always enjoyed that.
Dear retirees i have come across two incidents the officers who retired recently passed away one who has gone to submit pension option letter to bank and on the way second one who had made all arrangements of 156%to refund and get the pension also passed away recently. For this to whom should we held responsible because as per agreement they are not entitled commutation amt and have to pay huge amt.The responsibility lies both on IBA AND UFBU see the wage revision was due on 01-11-2007 and concluded on 27-04-2010 after 30 months if the negotiations would have concluded prior to due date or effect would have given from that date for all benefits of pension option, gratuity, commutation who are on the roll of banks the families of those would have not faced such thing of not getting commutation ect.Really it is shameful on the part of mainly on IBA and then UFBU leaders. Now again those who have retired prior to 01-09-2009 has to go medical examination for commutation this is one more funny thing. How doctor can say that he is fit and not fit as no body knows about their death it is in the hands of God.If suppose doctor says that he is very much fit and suppose he passed away after availing commutation and for one if he says he is not fit and if he leave more than 20 years and what is the necessary for medical only to reduce the commutation amt and retirees have to pay more that is only idea of Govt/IBA already those who have retired in 2000 or so they are already 70 plus and again commutation no or less what be their fate God only knows. So i request our leaders to convince IBA not to insist for medical exa. Thanks
