The Cadre Review proposal in respect of the promotional prospects of the Group B officers has been resubmitted by CBEC in warfooting by 8th Feb and now the DoPT may take a couple of days to examine it at appropriate level. If every thing goes fine next week the CR may come out of DoPT with an expected betterment to the Group B level.
What makes the Board change the proposal is purely, DoPT objection in favour of the Middle level officers (Group B). The government eventually will bow to popular pressure of Superintendents/Inspectors of CBEC and hope, the final out come with the expected positive results.

It is also hoped that all the posts created in Gr A level through this Cadre restructuring must be filled only by promotion from the Cadres of Superintendents of Customs and Superintendents of Central Excise to dilute the massive stagnation in these two cadres.
