Madhya Pradesh Finance Minister Raghavji yesterday announced seven per cent increase in dearness allowance of the government employees and pensioners from April 2012. With this, the dearness allowance of state employees have been brought at par with their Central counterparts, he said while presenting the state's annual budget for 2012-13 in the Vidhan Sabha. Hike in DA would entail additional burden of Rs 1057 crore to the state exchequer, he said, adding Panchayat Secretaries and Adhyapaks would also be benefitted by this. Employees of boards and corporations on deputation to the government getting only Fourth and Fifth Pay Panel scales would now be paid 560 per cent of basic pay and 77 per cent dearness allowance. He also announced increase in honorarium to employees on contract in Women and Child Welfare department as also in Health department, besides hike in medal allowance to awardees of President's Police Medal and Police Medal. Employees in district and janapad panchayats would be covered under contributory pension scheme. Honorarium and meal allowance of Home Guard jawans has been raised to Rs 190 from Rs 150 per day, he added.
