Pay hike for Kerala Govt. employees .65% D.A. to be merged.

Finance Minister T M Thomas Isaac declared a pay revision for the government employees on Saturday.
Revised salary would be given to the employees from April 1 onwards, he added while inaugurating a seminar on ‘Development of Kerala and Our Economy’, organised by the Kerala NGO Association as a part of their state conference.
Finance Minister said that the pay scale will be revised with retrospective effect.
While the salary hike will be introduced with effect from July 1, 2009, 65 percent of the dearness allowance (DA) will also be added to the basic salary.
The government has already discussed the matter with the Pay Commission, said the minister.
The government would receive a detailed report regarding the proposal for pay revision on December 1, he added. The report will be considered on January 1, 2011 after which, the government will announce the revised salary, according to Thomas Isaac.
The government is expected to declare the increment rate by the third week of February, he added.
The Minister also promised to study the pay structure of Central Government employees and employees of other states before fixation.
He also asserted that the revised salary would be distributed by April 1.
Last hike of salary for government officials was in 2004.
Finance Minister said that the LDF Government has been working for the welfare of the government employees.
“In 4.5 years of administration, we created nearly 30,000 vacancies in government sector. While 10,439 vacancies were created in the education sector, more than 6,000 vacancies were created in the Home Department.
