UGC pay scales may be implemented in the second week of December

Final decision on the University and college teachers has been delayed for another few days.
The election commission has given conditional permission to make the teachers new pay scale public. The commission has said that the govt. can issue the new pay scale even during the election. But care should be taken to ensure that the State's electorate are not being influenced by such announcement. If it happens so, this will be clear violation of model code of conduct.

According to sources final decision on new scales will be taken in the second week of December i.e. after the elections. The proposals regarding the scales wil be placed in the cabinet for approval. Decision to implement the report will be taken on the same day.

It has come to knowledge that MHRD ,after consultation with Ministry of finance has already given final shape to the new pay scales with few changes .
