West Bengal Govt. employees may expect a hike in April next year

WB Govt employees are going to get fatter pay package from April next year. The state Finance Minister has assured that the 5th Pay Commission for the state Govt employees may submit it's report in coming February and the Govt, willtake no time to implement it. 

The last pay committee has taken two years to submit it's report whereas the present commission is going to deliver it in just six months. The Parliament election has came as a blessing for the staff.

According to sources, the gross hike may be approximately 30% of gross salary. The minister promised to pay even more if the commission proposes so. Hike in 1999 was appriximately 39%. This hike will benefit 10 lakh Govt employees and 4.3 lakh pensioners. School teachers, non teaching staff and local authorities employees will also be benefited. 

Asking on the payment of any arrear, the minister left it to the recommendations of the commission and did not offer any assurance.
