Bank employees to go on two days' strike in July

About 10 lakh bank employees and officers plan to go on a two-day all-India strike in July this year. The United Forum of Bank Unions has decided to observe a two-day all-India strike during the monsoon session of Parliament in July, said Mr G.D. Nadaf, Convenor, UFBU, in a press release.

The forum has also decided to observe May 21 as ‘All-India Protest Day' against unilateral directions from the Government of India on bilateral issues and the attack on hard-earned trade union rights.
There will be centralised demonstrations at all State capitals and a rally before Parliament in New Delhi to mark the protest, added the release.
The protest will be against issues such as the Banking Law (Amendments) Bill and other reform measures, closure of rural branches, increased outsourcing of jobs, attacks on trade union rights, and the government's unilateral directions on bilateral issues.
The forum will also demand resolution of the ninth bipartite wage settlement pending with the Indian Banks' Association and the Government, and early settlement of the tenth bipartite settlement.

Unfortunate, PSU banks accepting & adopting all strategies even in worse form than Private Banks. Are young clerks who r receiving 12000 Rs per months with multifold seats' work like FD,AC opening,Cross- selling of Insurance,Gold &MF, mobile Banking etc by unpaid overtime working.
Who is afraid of privatisation ? Clerks , no way..it will benefit us. it is only officers who take salary >50k, free medical, house lease 15000-50000, furniture, mobile, lakhs of rs LTc. In addition, graft on AMC,new purchases, Commissions on Cross Selling with no Office timings & no fixed responsibility.
No leadership...PSU r in Bad Shape.
We Oppose the strike.

Dear manishkumar who is stopping u from becoming an officer...clerk people hav fixed working hours n hav no responebility....whether officers hav no fixed working hours, and only they are responsible for anyhing tha goes wrong..clerk people hav limited 7-8 hour of working, whether officers work upto 12 hrs n sometimes more than that, clear the exam and become an oficer, and please dont compare starting salary of an clerk wid the salary of a 15 year work xperience holding officer, u shud knw that young officers are getting only 22k after hardwork of 12 hours...we should b fighting together for this cause, it will b b benificial for both of us in the end !
