The meeting hosted by the Joint Administrative Council (JAC) of All Manipur Trade Unions Council (AMTUC) and All Manipur Government Employees Organisation (AMGEO) at its office at Bapupara was attended by representatives of the Manipur Secretariat Service Association, Council of Teachers' Association and Manipur State Pensioners' Union.
Information secretary, L Priyobratta said, the government had agreed to translate into work their demands within six months but one year having passed the government has failed to translate the agreed demands of the employees into work.
While employees in other departments are deprived of the revised pay bands recommended by the sixth pay commission, officers in the state judicial service are enjoying the same in toto.
This shows a biased attitude of the government towards its employees.
MLAs and ministers including the Chief Minister are enjoying pay and allowances above ' 1,20,000 while government employees are deprived of enhanced pay and allowances.
