Thiruvananthapuram, Jun 16 (PTI) Kerala could register tremendous progress through the newly introduced performance monitoring and evaluation system, a senior official said today.
Kerala was the third state to adapt the system launched by the Centre in September 2005. Punjab and Maharashtra had earlier implemented the system, Central secretariat Secretary Performance Management, Prajapathi Trivedi, said. The system was meant to evaluate the actual achievements of a government department against annual targets. Performance would not be gauged from a financial angle, he said.
"Fund spending is not the matter, but the physical, qualitative, static and dynamic efficiency have to be counted," he told reporters here.
A Result Framework Document (RFD) would be prepared every financial year. It had been decided to take objective action to determine the progress of RFD in the first 100 days of the UDF government in the state, he said.
