Karnataka to form Pay Commission, report likely within June this year.

K.J. Jagadish, president of the district unit of the Karnataka State Government Employees' Association, said on Tuesday that the Government had agreed to constitute the Sixth Pay Commission which would recommend ways to remove the anomalies between the pay scales of State and Union Government employees, subsequent to the implementation of the Sixth Pay Commission by the Centre.

Speaking at the district-level government employees' sports meet jointly organised by the Chitradurga Zilla Panchayat and the Department of Youth Services at the Onake Obavva Stadium here, he said that the commission might submit its recommendations before June.
Stating that the demand for the implementation of the Sixth Pay Commission scale in the State was unethical, Mr. Jagadish said that as per the understanding between the association and the Government, the salary of government employees would be revised once in five years. The Union Government revised salaries once in 10 years.
“Since the State Government implemented the recommendations of the Fifth Pay Commission in 2007, the next revision will be in 2012. The question of employees seeking a revision now does not arise,” he said.
Expressing concern over rising corruption in various departments, Mr. Jagadish called upon the members of the association to curb it at all levels.
Mr. Jagadish urged municipal president Sunita Mallikarjun to provide one acre of land to the association for constructing a community hall He said that employees would contribute a day's salary for the construction, if the land was made available by the municipal council.
Zilla Panchayat president C. Mahalingappa and member Ravi Kumar spoke. Ms. Sunita Mallikarjun said that she would discuss the matter with other members of the council. However, the municipal council had only four acres of land in Chitradurga and leaders of different communities were also demanding sites for their community halls, she said.

He is unfit to be a government employee leave alone employees president.Karnataka govt employees are getting 1/3 salary of Taminadu and Maharashtra state. This man president of local employees unit seems to be headless. This is the reason govt employees of Karnataka lowest paid in India. This idiot seems to be from engineering dept where most of employees get as par of their routine work. Shame on him.He must study the salaries of other state employees, then only he will realize how bad his remarks are.
