Home and Transport Minister R. Ashok assured in Bangalore that several demands of the State Government employees, including payment of wages on par with Central Government employees, will be met.
He was speaking at the State level Krishi Pandit (2008-09) awardees felicitation function organised by the Karnataka State Government Employees Association at Vidhana Soudha's Banquet Hall here recently.
The State Government has implemented the 5th Pay Commission recommendations in principle. Also the retirement age has been increased from 58 to 60 years. The DA is being paid on par with the Centre and the HRA too has been significantly hiked. Besides, the Chief Minister has agreed for time bound promotion and the Government order in this regard will soon be out, he said.
The State Government is presenting an exclusive Agriculture budget this year for the first time, which is a record of sorts. The budget will prove to be a boon for farmers, he added.
Agriculture Minister Umesh Katti, in his address, said he will deal with the demands of the agriculture awardees after bringing the matter to the notice of the CM. The Karnataka Government Employees Association President L. Byrappa too spoke.
MLA Rajugowda, Bangalore Doordarshan Deputy Director- General Dr. Mahesh Joshi and Agriculture Commissioner Babu Rao Mudabi were present.
