Why doesn't these are not signed in BPS ?? Why does separate agreement?? Is it to exhibit supremacy of SBI employees from the rest in UFBU???

pratapG said...

Because there is a lot of difference in the work between SBI employees and other bank employees.
An example ordinary clerk in SBI could pass upto 50,000/- without supervision. There is a lot of risk.
The ordinar clerk in SBI is a SINGLE WINDOW OPERATOR.He should committ all kinds of work regarding CASH and ACCOUNTS.There are no separate cashiers in SBI.We should crossell bank products like SBIMF and SBILIFE.FOR this SBI made us to become CIF and AMFI agents.SBI want to compete with ICICI and HDFC banks not with vijaya, syndicate banks so it has to encourage and satisfy employees.
A frontline staff in private banks drawing 20,000 per month. The same work we are doing but salary not comparable.I just want to ask one straight question,SBI is the no1 bank in india. Do u think salary should be same as lower banks. Then what is the difference in NO1 and others. If we were not with IBA and have negotiations with only SBI mgt. There would be a lot of difference in our salaries. If u were in my position u would think like that.Think reseaonably.please spare sbi old employees. We are YOUTHSBI.

WHY NOT IT CAN BE CHALLANGED UNDER EQUAL PAY FOR EQUAL WORK......WHAT EVER MR PRATAP HAS TOLD IS NOT CORRECT...THE WORKING CONDITIONS IN SBI IS FAR BETTER THAN OTHER PSU EMPLOYEES......WE ARE DEMANDING THESE FOR ALL AND WHY IT WAS NOT ENVISAGED IN BPS AGREEMENT.

rishikesh said...

What PratapG has put on -there is not equal work.
SBI management should be congratulated for this act.
start from co-op banks to rural banks to pvt banks, equal pay for equal work is on books only and never be implemented.
Govt is actively considering to link performance and paying capacity with pay packages in banks.
We should not envy on others success, even within one bank pf optees and pension optees are on two different foots.

Who is asked SBI people to sit with others for wage revision? Why not you people go alone like RBI, LIC, NABARD etc. Sitting with Nationalised &Associate to derive a bench mark for further wage negotiation at your bank level, isn't a breach of trust? What's the difference between the work between SBH & SBI? Technology is same for both. Recruitment agency is same CRB Mumbai for both. Then why do SBH employees get less than you YOUTHSBI? Have any answer???

Thanks.

what pratapG has said is plain hogwash.SBI is No.1 only in terms of business volume and size but not on effeciency parameters. All associate bank employees perform similar duties as detailed by him but are being paid less only because of the step motherly attitude of SBI,inspite of being more efficient .It is SBI hegemony, period.

Unknown said...

As per the revised agreement signed what happens to the pension & gratui ty paid as per old scale of salary ie retired as on 30.09.2008 as the pension is based on the last 12 mont hs salary drawn? Then what happens to the PF amount on retirement during 30.09.2008, further will there be any difference payable on commutation of pension thereof.

I agree with pratapG. As the profit of SBI is far more than the other banks, the credit should go to its employess. Congratulations to all the employess at Sbi! and thanks to sbi mgmt.

Failed to find any rationality in the above comments. One should know the recruitment history and procedures before delivering any such comment. These are nothing but proved only ones ignorance on the subject. pratapG told ordinary clerk in SBI could pass upto 50,000/- without supervision, which is quite false. Clerks are designated as Senior Asst etc and drawing Special Pay are subject to do it, not all clerks. In other PSBs also similar set up is very much present. They have also Teller system from a long period.

pratapG told a frontline staff in private banks drawing 20,000 per month. I am a frontline staff of a nationalised bank drawing 31000/- per month doing the same job and delivering the same productivity since my joining in bank.So what's the problem in it? We do work in CBS as users and we are not software developers. This is to keep in mind by one before calling himself YOUTH etc etc.

During BSRB days in clerical selection there is a roaster system of allotment and for that reason being stood second among aspirants in final selection. I was allotted to a nationalised bank in 1992 despite having a 90 vacancy of SBI out of total 250 in that year. And now my contemporaries in SBI, those who were selected with me in that year are drawing 2000/- CPF and 975/- SCA apart from petrol and other facilities and that results a 20% difference between them and me without any of my fault.

Thanks.

PNB, BOB, BOI and some associate banks are ahead in per employee profit compare to SBI in 2009 and 2010. In size SBI is big and not in all parameters.

Thanks.

Ref:Chandan
I am working in SBT,completed 27 years of service. These supremacy of SBI exists from the begining,in the case of Third retirement benefits,Increments,Spl Allowances. Not only in SBI ,but in some other banks have some other allowances like tea/lunch allowance.Banks like Federal bank have profit linked incentives are there.
I think Unions are the main culprit in this regard. Many settlements are out.Still they couldnt achieve a uniformity in this regard.
SBI staff's loan facilities are far far better than other asssociates of SBI.Either AIBEA agree with the merger or they should fight for uniformity.

But we can only dream !We have seen this in latest settlement also.Nothing is going to happen

Referring Runtrailblog June 22, 2010 5:06 AM:

I left GOI and joined a PSB not in a private bank. So I can't compare myself with a private bank like Federal Bank or its facilities. During O.P.Bhat period SBI employees achieved a number of facility as because chairman himself is from SBI in-cadre.Compare O.P.Bhat with S.K.Chakroborty of ex-head of PNB. You will find the difference. Tifin allowance at BOB or Andhra are quite minimal, a subject of 400/500 only.

Thanks.

Mr.Chandan,
As usual you are covering up unions. In your reply you kept silent .Unions ,especially AIBEA is the main culprit of all such discriminations now we are facing.Otherwise you have to say managements are guilty. If so , what about the role of unions? Why they could not resist those discriminations and protect us? When I was joined in SBT, there was BSRB and RRB.RRB was for SBI group.why I chosen SBT only because of the regional nature. Now I really feel sorry for that bad decision..

You may have feel the allowance given in BOB/Andhra is minimal. But it is not digestible when other public sector banks which comes under IBA should nt have such facility. And most of the banks are also ruled by AIBEA union.

Referring Runtrailblog June 22, 2010 8:23 PM:

Coming to your point's one after one. I have a senior colleague who once upon a time was working with me as a clerk and now a scale-I officer in my bank. He was recruited in the year 1983 almost your contemporary. Do you know from where was he recruited? Yes he was recruited from Regional Recruitment Board/Cell of SBI which was a state unit under that time Service Board/CRB of SBI Bombay. But the question is why was he allotted to a nationalised bank not to SBI? Because he was in the waiting list and was unable to get his berth in first list. Due to rapid banking expansion at that time, In spite of presence of a few BSRBs at different zones of the country, many nationalised banks approached SBI recruitment board to allot candidates from waiting list etc. Of course it was done with the consent from the candidates at waiting list. This waiting list actually was a list of unsuccessful candidates' list. Technically there was no waiting list as because every year at that time, there was fresh recruitment. So you can't compare my case with my senior colleague though he himself always claimed as if he was an excellent one recruited for SBI but allotted to a Nationalised one by bad luck. His claim is completely false, rather I feel he himself should feel lucky that he got a job in a bank, though a nationalised one, despite being did poor in the recruitment exam.

Is there any preference exercising option in associate banks recruitment either in clerk or PO? In last recruitments in clerical since 2005 by CRB (after abolition of BSRSs in 2001-2002) advertisement for the same categorically instructed to apply for any one particular associate bank and for one state only though recruitment was done for all associate banks for all India vacancies at a time in one recruitment process. I don't know what was happened in your time in those cases.

I hope despite protest by AIBEA & BEFI associate banks will merged with SBI soon like SBS and AIBEA will be rooted out from these banks. NCBE at that time may cross AIBEA in members’ strength. So don't feel sorry. Your dark night in union subject soon going to be over and Sun is going to be rise. I am from RSS/VHP etc and because of majority of AIBEA in my bank I am a member of it and nothing more.

Thanks.

AIBEA site has a scrolling message regarding the Court Stay Order:-

"In the meantime, it is reported that an individual has obtained Interim Injunction from the High Court of Chennai. Steps will be taken to get it vacated."

Contrary to our expectations, it is not the IBA which is now rushing to get the stay vacated, but the guardian angels of the working class movement are working overtime to get it done for them.

The money collected through the levy from us would be spent by them to fight the cases filed by the employees against the Pension Settlement. They have already proved their love and affection for the bank employees by not only deciding to sign anti-constitutional pension settlement but also forcing other unions to sign it. Their attitude towards bank employees is evident from the scrolling message on their site .
