J & K employees to strike on 5th and 6th August

Government employees under the banner of Jammu and Kashmir Government Employees Joint Consultative Committee (JCC) condemned the police action on the government employees and declared to observe two days strike from August 5. This was announced here today by senior leader EJAC, Ram Kumar Sharma in a joint press conference of all the three factions of EJAC.
Ram Kumar Sharma said that all the three factions of the JCC headed by Abdul Qayoom Wani and Khurshid Alam declared that employees of all the three divisions of the state will observe strike on August 5. He said, “By adopting the use of force the government has tried to suppress the employees who are fighting for their rights”. He said that inspite of mitigating with the employees the government has decided to loose reign of repression on the employees. He also said that the government failed to concede the demands of employees then employees are left with no other option to come on roads. He said that the roadmap of the state government for the release of 6th pay commission is totally unacceptable and demanded for the release of 6th pay commission in two installments as per central government. He also demanded for the regularization of daily wagers, contractual and adhoc employees, enhancement in the retirement age from 58 to 60 years and removal of pay anomalies.
