The Haryana government employees have a reason to cheer. State finance minister Captain Abhimanyu, who presented his budget proposals for 2016-17 on Monday, announced that the government planned to raise the salaries and allowances of its employees after the Union government took a call on the recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission. The commission has already submitted its report to the Centre.
Sources said that Haryana might face an additional burden of around Rs 4,000 crore due to increase in pensions and salary of its employees, if the state implemented the recommendations of the pay commission. Abhimanyu said that they had made a suitable provision in the budgetary estimates for 2016-17 in that regard.
