If the Govt. really wants to help retiring employees, it can be better do
1. relaxation in Income tax to possible extent.

2. Merger of DA with pay.

When nobody is liking the extended age of retirement and many youths are awaiting for jobs, why this unnecessary extension of age. Govt will lose the support of youths.

Rahul Gandhi has already turned it down

is Rahul Gandhiji watching and hearing this news.
It is ridiculous to increase retirement age to 62. It will create more unemployment problem. They will already in unrest for not getting better job opportunities.
It is better to reduce the retirement age to 58 or 55. It will create rejoice to get more govt.jobs to the youngsters. Their dream will come true and it may be favour to congress in the General Election 2014.

Learned Justice Mathur will consider the retirement age to 58 or 55.
It will be create more employment opportunities to youngster waiting for their jobs.

If Rahul is really. For the youth he has to oppose this.

It goes without saying that OLD is GOLD. Time-tested and has a proven track-record. More so in the face of 'Quality Stuff" being churned out by the educational Institutions across the spectrum, whose 'employability quotient' has long been on a journey downhill; save for a few exceptions....Shibaji, Dibrugarh.

Ridiculous all old jerks are in same side. What about young India?
All this old jerks are libility to the nation they should die. First should be that MS.

fantastic news! Hope this will materialize before the elections in 2014 without any hitches. Now the life span of citizens in India have increased and those who retire at the age of 60 now appears very young and sharp. These experienced hands are much much more better than a new young face who will need training, experience and efficiency to reach the same level as the retiring employee... all our support for this positive move by the govt....... RETIREMENT AGE OF CG EMPLOYEES SHOULD BE REDUCED TO 58 YEARS TO ENABLE GOVT GIVE THE CHANCE TO BETTER AND HIGHLY EDUCATED UNEMPLOYED YOUTH OF THE COUNTRY WHO DUE TO THEIR BETTER HIGH TECHNIQUE EDUCATION SERVE THE COUNTRY BETTER AND NO DOUBT THEY ARE OUR COMING GENERATION WHO WILL FIGHT FOR THE BETTER COUNTRY IN THE WORLD. LEAVE THE POLITICS IN THIS FIELD AND FILL UP THE VACANT POSTS IN THE VARIOUS DEPARTMENTS WHERE SO MANY POSTS ARE VACANT AND

No point keeping at bay the decision to hike retirement age apprehending the backlash of the unemployed youth as employment generation sequel to retirement will be a pittance compared to the vast pool of unemployed youth. Moreover, the vacancies are being curtailed gradually. Then why retire those who can serve better with their expertise. The move also has some financial logic. Retiring able people and continue to subsist them through pension for a long time by draining exchequer for a longish period does not augur well for the economy since average life expectancy is on the rise. The move have some social implication too. Since many in the lower grade of pay will receive a meager amount by way of pension which make this section financially vulnerable vulnerable.Politically also it will reap dividends since a large amount of working people will favor the ruling alignment. Finally, if steps in this regard are really taken please do not leave out those who are to retire shortly.

It will be the most foolish decision. The govt is not going to get more votes due to this. They will in fact get lesser votes, since the youths waiting for employment will definitely not support them.

its so unfortunate if retirement age is increased

7th Pay Commission has yet to start functioning. Justice (retd) Mathur has been appointed its Chairperson only in the first week of the current month i.e. 15days ago. It is absolutely unlikely that the Commission will be submitting its interim report so soon and that too on an issue which is so vital.
I am already having a email attached therewith a scanned copy OM of DPE 'increasing the retirement age to 62 yrs'. I simply doubt the authencity of such reports. Some unscruplous element may be behind who are resorting to rumer mongering just to have fun.

Only Politicians can comments like this. This is very unfortunate decision. It will create more unemployment problem. They will already in unrest for not getting better job opportunities.

The Government is yet to issue the Notification constituting VIIth CPC. How is it possible to submit such interim recommendation of hiking the retirement age so soon ? One has to think before posting such matter without any confirmtion.

The corridors of power is abuzz with words " retirement age hike to 62 years". Should that happen please ensure that those born between 02.02.2014 & 28.02.2014 could benefit from hike in retirement age. Birth during this period should not be considered as a disqualification to reap benefits coming out in the wake of a hike in retirement age

it should be reduced to 50 after 50 clerical staff output is less than half of young clerk

The suggestion of Pay Commission for hike in retirement age is admirable one. As far as the life span is considered it is really beneficial to those who are going to be retired at the age of 60. No unemployment problem will arise due to this hike. Any way all most all the youth are doing some or other types of work. No one is likely to be remain as idle. The nation can avail the experience of the aged in so many fields.

The proposal, if real, is the post ugly thing. It shows the poor competence of the Govt. Life is not the one to be spent on job. Job should only support life for some time. 55 is the correct age for quitting the govt.service. 58 ok. 60 and above 60 are too high. Govt. should put the younger generation in govt.machinery and use their ideas/creativity etc to run the Govt in current situation.
Govt.things that I will help them in election. But the result will be totally negative. It will lose the present support also.
Is Ragul knows of it. He should only interfere in this issue and make a total stop. Will he do?

What for they are extending the retirement age, which was not demanded by any union. With the Salary of Retiring official two unemployed who are fit physically and mentally can be employed which also increase the productiveness. It is not a wise decision.

Anonymous said...

Its a riduculous decision. It bears a chain reaction which the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India has condemned in a catena of cases. Many youth who are expecting govt employment will suffer ultimately. Rather it should be brought down to 55.

Retirement age should not be further raised to 62 yrs as it was already raised from 58 to 60 for the interest of country. On the other hand some important decision should be taken by the govt for betterment of senior citizen.

It is going to be a unjustified step for the younger generation who are awaiting for job. The government aims to hold the PF and Gratuity funds for another 2 years to get funding of its ambitious food bill.

No further news on it. I find it really amusing seeing the level on intellect and response. No wonder a large section of youth are unemployable.

People who think this will effect youth employ-ability are beyond stupid. I am 23, happily employed in the Private Sector, in no urge or need of a government job what-so-ever.

Foreign countries have their staff working till 65-70 and with the increasing health improvement and life span, it is scientific for it to be atleast 62. Hey, if the youth are this good, they would not be unemployed, waiting for a government job like a vulture for some competent experiencned employee to retire who have a few decades to the company.

I'd love he private sector to follow suit and increase it to atleast 65-70 odd. Nowa-days alll Govt employees are retiring at 60 and joining Big Private Organizations as consultants and working another healthy 10 years. It's insane how far behind we are anyways.

Well.... it is a misconception that it will increase unemployment among the youth.

We request Government to increase retirement age as soon as possible. You have unnecessarily created a hope among us, if you dont increase the retirement age, you would loose faith under the eyes of every govt employee. Even my friends are telling the same, now no one wants to vote for UPA. Atleast BJP or aam aadmi party should consider this.
