West Bengal likely to announce D.A. this week

 Sources in the Finance Ministry of the state Govt. revealed that it is all set to announce the next .installment of Dearness Allowance for the state employees. It is to be announced very soon, probably in a couple of days. As per information with us, the hike will be 6% of basic pay (another source in the ministry informed that there will be two installments granted together amounting to 13% in one go) and will be effective from January 1 , next year.
It will take the total D.A. to 51% or 57%, as the case may be. Earlier, in the month of August, the C.M. promised to hike it from the New Year(Click here for details).
As the enhancement will be prospective in nature, there will be no question of any arrears. Employees will draw enhanced salary with the pay of January 2013.
Eventually, the Central and most other state Govt. is paying D.A. @72%.
