Chhattisgarh announces 7% D.A.,at par with Central

The Chhattisgarh Government employees have the reason to cheer as Chief Minister Raman Singh has announced a fresh tranche of 7 per cent hike in Dearness Allowance (DA) at par with the Central employees on Tuesday.

Till now, the State Government employees were getting 58 per cent DA which will raised to 65 per cent equal to the DA given to the Centre Government employees.
Government's latest gesture will cost the exchequer an additional burden of Rs 175 crore annually. This year alone it will cost Rs 117 crore.
The revised DA will be paid with effect from July 1 and about 2, 25,000 employees will benefit from the announcement.
From last several years the employees were demanding for DA equal to Central Government employees even a massive indefinite strike was also held last year by employees.
In last Budget session, Chief Minister announced to provide the equal DA with Centre form July and at that time State Government had three instalments back from Centre. State Government had released one instalment that time while rest of the instalment was left.
Now the 3rd and 4th instalment will be given together from July 1.
According Chief Minister office, State Government will release the DA just after Centre has released it. State Finance department has issued the directives in this concern immediately following the order of CM on Tuesday.
The employees and officers associations in State have shown immense happiness over the decision.
