SBI strike deferred, no new date announced

State Bank of India (SBI) officers Union on Saturday deferred the two-day nation-wide strike, which was to have begun from November 8, after a conciliatory meeting with the management of the bank.
The call given by the All-India State Bank Officers Federation (AISBOF) for a two-day countrywide strike on November 8 and 9 has been deferred, union sources said.
A decision to this effect was taken late this evening, the sources said."The strike has been deferred as understanding on certain issues has been reached with the management," AISBOF General Secretary G D Nadaf told PTI.

Keeping in mind the convenience of customers and reputation of the bank, the union decided to defer the two-day countrywide strike, he said, adding that dialogue with the management is still ongoing with respect to the remaining issues.

Nadaf claimed that the management has agreed to their demand for adequate compensation to officers working on holidays. The management has also given assurances on issues related to transfers and promotion of staff to officer cadre, he said.

The country's largest lender with a customer base of over 13.60 crore has about 13,560 branches spread across the country.

Why strike has been deffered? Is there any reconciliatory measures or only vested interests of association leaders

Nadaf is one so-called leader who has been betraying everyone over the past many years, be it benefits or wage revision. He could not get even a single benefit to other PSB officers. He cannot be so partial against other PSB officers even after donning the hat of GS of AIBOC. It is a wakeup call for all the officers of ABs and PSBs. Get rid of such leaders.
