Good news for the ITOs. The Income Tax Officers[Gr B] was placed in the Pay Band 9300-34800 with Grade Pay of Rs 4800 initially. After four years of service as ITO, they were to be placed in the same Pay Band with enhanced Grade Pay of Rs 5400.
There was a doubt whether they would be granted the one increment or not while upgradation.
DOPT has recently clarified it in favour of the ITOs. They will be given one additional increment while granting the enhanced Grade Pay after completion of four years of regular service.
The arrears arising for this re fixation, is to be disbursed immediately.
