The employees in the Haryana state may expect a rise of about 35 percent in their present salary as Government is likely to announce new pay scales next month well before the announcement of Parliament elections.
According to sources the new pay scales are likely to be announced on November 1 after the committee constituted to deal the pay scales submits its report. Government would have to bear additional expenditure of Rs.1500 crores for the revised pay scales and Rs. 3500 crores towards arrears.
According to sources four distinct pay bands are likely to be recommended in place of existing 35 pay scales in the state. IAS IPS and other administrative services are likely to be covered in Pay band 1, while senior technocrats comprising of Chief Engineer, Superintending Engineers, Doctors, college principals and other equivalent senior technical officers of different departments would be covered in pay band 2. Existing class II and III employees are likely to be covered in pay band 3 while all class IV employees are likely to be places in pay band 4.
There are more than 3.11 lakh employees in the state and this includes 3000 class I employees and 15500 class II employees. Majority of employees are from class III services and this figure is around 1.89 lakh.
According to sources it is likely that the state government may not follow central pattern for grant of allowances. The allowances are likely to be reduced considerably from the recommendations of sixth pay commission.
