Odisha to implement 7th pay commission recommendations

As a Diwali bonanza, the Odisha government today announced to implement the recommendations of 7th pay commission for its employees for which it would constitute a fitment committee.
The state government would set up the fitment committee which would prepare the modalities for implementation of the recommendations.
“I am happy to announce that the state government will implement the 7th pay commission recommendations. A fitment committee has been formed for working out the modalities. This will benefit the state government employees and pensioners,” Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said.
With this, around four lakh state government employees and over three lakh pensioners would be benefitted.
It may be recalled that the 7th pay commission headed by Justice AK Mathur had recommended 23.55 % overall hike in pay, allowances and pensions for central government employees with effect from Jan 1 this year.

The strike drama by Confederation will definitely be a failure if it proceed with its unilateral decision. This move is not sincere as the Confederation is cleverly keeping mum about the deferred strike of NJCA. At the time of deferment of the strike of July11,the Confederation said unilateral decisions of members of NJCA will break the unity of workers and it should be with the decision of NJCA .Now,the NJCA leaders are keeping mum about the agitational programmes of the Confederation and is talking in a different voice.Even then, the Confederation is giving publicity to the separate moves of NJCA. The Confederation is trying to cheat its own rank and file to save the face of Shivagopal Mishra and team. Please remember the safe " moral support" of Shivagopal Mishra, who is also the leader of Railway employees, to the nation wide strike of September2. The members of the Confederation also could "support" the proposed strike like this-do their work and dont lose the salary, and just give "moral" support.

No.NC/JCM/2016 Dated: October 26, 2016 by ShivaGopal Mishra to the Finance Minister

"After detailed discussions it was agreed by your goodself and other Hon’ble Ministers present in the meeting that, the government would address the grievances of the employees, whereupon the NJCA had decided to defer the “Indefinite Strike”. Accordingly, a committee was set-up to consider the demand of Revision of Minimum Wage and Fitment Formula with a mandate to finalize its report within four months.
We (Staff Side) interacted with the said committee, headed by Shri P.K. Das, Addl. Secretary (Expenditure), on 24.10.2016"

Now see what the Confederation says:
"This meetings views with grave concern that even after 3½ half months the committee is not constituted and inordinate delay is taking place in implementing the assurance given by Hon’ble Ministers."

Contradiction?Confusing?..........That's it.
