Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa today(21/10/13) announced Diwali bonus and ex-gratia for the year 2012-13 to 3.50 lakh employees working in various government PSUs involving a total expenditure of Rs 240 crore. A decision to this effect was taken at a high-level meeting chaired by the Chief Minister at the State Secretariat in which ministers, secretaries and officials of various departments participated.
As per the decision, 20 per cent bonus -- 8.33 bonus and 11.67 ex-gratia -- would be given to the employees of State Electricity Board, State Transport Corporations, Civil Supplies Corporation, State Rubber Corporation, Forest and Tea Plantation workers, cooperative and public sector sugar mills and Tamil Nadu Cooperative Milk Producers Centre. In a statement here, Ms Jayalalithaa said 8.33 bonus and 11.67 per cent ex-gratia would be given to all qualified employees of Cooperative Institutions and 20 per cent bonus to all workers employed with profit making cooperative institutions.
