As expected and informed earlier in this blog nearly a week ago, Punjab Govt. today released D.A. at par with Central Government.

The enhanced DA of 7 per cent would put an additional burden of Rs 445 crore on the state exchequer for the remaining period of current financial year, an official spokesman said here today. He said that the arrears of the DA till October 31, would be deposited in the GPF of the employees and would be paid in cash from November 1."
