Central Govt. has already notified it a holiday throughout the country under N.I. Act, 1881. So all establishments including banks will remain closed on 14th April 2011. The Central notification under Negotiable Instrument Act 1881 is linked in IBA website also.

west bengal declared holiiday on 14 th april..but till date no under ni act,,please verify the original circular at first
Ys West Bengal has decleared 14th April as Holiday. But unfortunately those who are under N I Act (Bank, Insurance and other Mercentile firms)can not not enjoy it as Holiday. Because it is clearly written in the notification that under N I Act it is not a holiday.
Sacrifice by poor bankers to save democracy (through election duty) through autocratic fiats. Alas! Poorly paid, mercilessly exploited bankers!
