We are aware that all the bank officers are eager to know their revised basic pay after the wage settlement. However, AIBOC has still to issue the circular on revised scales of pay.
In the meanwhile, we have come across with a circular issued by State Bank of India Officers’ Association of one of the circles wherein they have published the revised basic pay of the Officers after the settlement.
We are furnishing hereunder the existing as well as revised basic pay of the Bank Officers as per the circular issued by State Bank of India Officers’ Association.
We would like to mention here that the chart has been issued by one of the Officers’ Association of State Bank of India, which is affiliated to All India State Bank Officers’ Federation and AIBOC.

IF WE UPDATE THE SCALES FROM PILLAI COMMITEE RECOMMENDATIONS OF 1979 THE STARTING SALARY SHOULD BE BASIC 15600+GRADE PAY 5400+HRA 30% WHICH IT SELF IS 27300+ DA 36.75% AROUND 7500 TOTAL STARTING SALARY SHOULD BE 35000 RUPEEES PRESENT WAGE REVISION IS GIVING ONLY 14500+36.75% DA+HRA+CCA 22000 ONLY. BANK OFFICERS STATUS WAS REDUCED BY 13000 PM WILL THE NEXT STTLEMENT CAN GIVE THIS MUCH COMPENSATON TO NARROW THE GAP .WHO IS RESPONSIBLE.IT IS NOT ONLY BANK OFFICERS WHO WERE MADE THE SCAPE GOAT BUT THE ENTIRE SECTOR WILL NOT BE IN A POSITION TO ATTRACT TALENTS IN OFFICERS CADRE. STAGE TO STAGE FITMENT OF OFFICERS IN SCALE-V
URGENT INTERVENTION REQUIRED FROM ASSOCIATION
I mention below a standard line of Circular being issued by Banks at the time of strike call by officers association:
"Officers in Senior Management Grade Scale IV and above are not expected to
be members of the associations of which officers in Scale I, II and III are also
members. "
Untill 9th BPS I was under impression that officers of scale -IV and V are part of association and despite above mentioned line of caution, we took part in all the strikes/ agitations as per the directive of officers assoctaion. However, now it is proved wrong and all officers of Scale V are supposed to resign from your esteemed association because in proposed 9th BPS, stage to stage fitment will be given to each and every officer except officers of Scale V as an officer in scale V with Basic Pay of 26620 will get revised basic pay of 40400 while a Scale VI with same Basic Pay of . 26620 will get revised basic pay of 42000/- . This is the only exception of stage to stage fitment.
Therefore, now it is proved that that no one is concerned to take care of this anomaly despite the fact that the 98% officers in Scale-V are drawing basic of 26620 because of short length of the scale. ( total 4 increment, two fro CAIIB, 1 for promotion and 1 for last drawn PQA).
The AIBOC has proposed scales IV and V as under which has created this unique problem.

We exepect AISBOF to raise the issue and rectify this anomaly before celebreting the signature ceremony on 09th/ 10 th April 2010.
I am a member of officers association since 1991 and as a member, I have right to know the reasons behind accepting this by association. Otherwise, you simply inform us that there is no place for Scale-IV and V in Officers Association.

WHY FEEL ASHAMED TO BE A PSU BANKER ???

The leaders of the officers association and the union should voluntarily resign from their posts. They have collectively brought down the job in PSU banks to below poverty line level. The agreement reached by the leaders make our heads hang in shame. We feel isolated from the overall gambit of people who used to feel proud about working in a PSU bank. Probationary Officers were earlier called as highly paid clerks, now they will be called ‘kolhu ka bail’.
These leaders deserve to be beaten with ch**pals before the members. We don’t want any more leaders to talk about salary. Let the government form a committee like 6th pay commission and study the market and link it with business growth and position of banks and then recommend pay scales. I think we will any day get better than 17.5%.
It seemed as if during last 3 ½ years that our association was discussing the Kashmir problem with the bank management. Had Indian and Pakistani officials discussed Kashmir in as many meetings as these bank leaders were discussing with the bank management they could have also found the solution of Kashmir problem but our leaders could bargain only 17.5% hike.
The current wage settlement is a SHAME for all of us. The difference between the maximum hike of Scale-V officer and maximum hike of Scale-VI officer is 75% have these id**ts (I mean the original word and not the meaning now understood after the recent movie by same name) come to such a startling difference after 3 ½ years of negotiation. God save PSU bank employees.
Instead of talking about 5 day a week after setting up of ATM, Online transfer facilities etc, They are talking about setting up a working time. Has any leader negotiated with any AGM or DGM if they force their staff to sit late? These leaders talk about giving Rs.200/- if you sit for more than 2 hours after your office time. Even a railway coolie at New Delhi or any other big station charges Rs.300/- for shifting your two- light luggage from entrance to platform no. 2 or 3 and the job is get done in 5 to 10 minutes.
SHAME WE ARE TOLERATING THEM. I feel ashamed to be a PSU banker today.
