As per Govt. sources and media reports, West Bengal Govt. is seriously exploring the possibility for payment of at least a portion of arrears of D.A. to state employees.
With the recent hike of central D.A. from January 2015, the state employees are lagging behind to the tune of 48% in comparison to their central counterparts. The Govt. is considering to pay at least some portion to reduce the frustration of their employees. The amount which may be released soon may not entirely be paid in cash but a fraction may be deposited in the P.F. with a mandatory lock in period of three years.
The state Govt. which is scheduled to go for assembly election within a year, likely to be desperate to win the heart of the employees.
