Central D.A. to increase @8% from Jan'13. Bank D.A to increase 25 slabs from Feb'13

Consequent upon the release of AICPIN data for Dec'12, the final calculation of D.A. is now possible.
Central employees are going to get a hike of 8% of basic pay with effect from 1st January 2013, as calculated and predicted earlier.
In case of Bank employees, the hike will be 25 slabs (3.75%) for Feb/Mar/Apr'13. It was also hinted in this blog that increase of one point in the AICPIN of Dec'12 will make the increase of two slabs more and that actually happened. Detailed calculation is provided below.

Consumer Price Index for Industrial Workers (CPI-IW) of December 2012 increased by one point and reached 219.

The exact increase of D.A. for the Central Govt. employees with effect from 1st January and Bank employees for February to April 2013 will be exactly anticipated tomorrow evening, the 31st January. Revision of pension/family pension of pre 2006 pensioners : recent order

After a long battle, Pre-2006 Pensioners and family pensioners have something to cheer. Dept. of Pension and Pensioners’ Welfare,Ministry of Personnel, Pension Grievances and Pension has issued orders to enhance the pension of Pre-2006 Pensioners and FamilyPensioners based on revised Concordance Table meant for linking pre-1996, Pre-2006Pay Scales. This Concordance Table has been revised on the basis of 6CPC revised pay fitment table applicable to Post 2006 Central Govt. employees.

SBI extends banking hour on 24th January

In view of holidays on 23rd and 25th January in some states and 26th and 27th January all over the country, SBI management decided to extend banking hours by 2 hours on 23rd January in all branches throughout the country to minimize the problem likely to be faced by the customers.

Bank employees to observe strike on 20th and 21st Feb'13

In line with other trade unions , bank employees to participate in the general strike for two days on 20th and 21st February 2013. All central Govt. employees and most of the state employees are participating in the nationwide two days' strike.

BSNL proposes VRS to one lakh staff

In order to bring down the salary burden, which constitutes about 48 percent of its revenues, state-owned telecom company BSNL wants to let go one lakh employees by offering them voluntary retirement.

Central employees will strike on 20 and 21st Feb'13

Confederation of Central Govt. employees planned a two days' strike for different demands. Some of the demands as mentioned in Part I of the charter consists of socio economic issues like price rise, unemployment, privatization, disinvestment etc. In the second part they demanded their own expectations like 7th pay commission, 50% D.A. merger etc.
All most every major trade unions supported this two days' strike on 20th and 21st February 2012.

Defence Ministry issued implementation of rank pay arrear order by S.C.

Ministry of defence has issued implementation order of the Supreme Court dated 04.09.2012 regarding rank pay for the soldiers with effect from 01.01.1986.

The government on Thursday raised the annual cap on supply of cheap cooking gas to nine cylinders from six and gave freedom to state-run oil companies to raise price of diesel "from time to time".

Retirement Benefits under New Pension Scheme

It was informed by Minister of State (PERSONNEL,PUBLIC GRIEVANCES AND PENSIONS) that Central Govt. employees covered under New Pension Schemeare entitled for DCRG Benefits viz., Death Cum Retirement Benefits, in cases where a Government employee covered by NPS is retired on invalidation/disability and in the case of death of a Government employee covered by NPS in service, on the same rates as are applicable under the old pension scheme, i.e. CCS (Pension) Rules, 1972.

Uttarakhand employees call off stir

Dehradun, Jan 16 (PTI) About 30,000 ministerial employees in Uttarakhand, who were on strike for the past twenty days demanding pay revision, called off their stir today after the state government conceded their demand.

They were on strike since December 27 affecting work in government offices across the state in support of their demand for pay revision as in case of their Uttar Pradesh counterparts.

M.P. hiked teachers' salary but they want sixth pay commission benefit

Taking an important decision in favor of teachers of Madhya Pradesh, State government hiked the salary of Assistant teacher, teacher and senior teachers by 2500 to 3500.
CM Shiraj Singh had a meeting with the representatives of teachers organization on Saturday and after the announced the hike in salary. With their demands of same work, same salary all the teachers of state were on strike for last one month. They also called a kumba of teacher’s on Sunday.

12th January 2013 is a holiday in W.B under N.I Act

Banks to be closed in West Bengal on 12th January.
We have received a lot of queries regarding holiday of Swami Vivekananda's birthday on 12th January in West Bengal. It is being informed that 12th January 2013 has been declared holiday in West Bengal under Negotiable Instrument Act 1881 and therefore Banks, LIC and other institutions who follow the respective state N.I act holidays, will remain close on 12th January 2013.
The state Govt has notified this long before, on 10th Dec 2012.

Tamilnadu employees to get ad hoc bonus for pongal

Tamilnadu State Government has ordered for grant of Adhoc Bonus equivalent to 30 days emoluments to all regular and temporary Government employees, employees of Local Bodies and Aided Educational Institutions including teachers on regular time scales of pay for the financial year 2011-2012.

Rail fare to be hiked from 22nd January

 Ministry of Railways has decided to increase the passenger fares  with effective from the midnight of 21^st January 2013 and 22^nd January 2013 (i.e. w.e.f. 0000 hours of 22-1-2013). This decision was announced today i.e. on 9th January 2013, by Minister of Railways Shri Pawan Kumar Bansal at a Press Conference held in Rail Bhawan.  Minister of State for Railways Shri. Kotla Jaya Surya Prakash Reddy and Railway Board Members were also present.

J&K govt employees on strike over retirement age

Jammu, Jan 8 (PTI) Jammu and Kashmir government employees today began a three-day-long 'Kaam Chor Hartal' across the state demanding enhancement of retirement age to 60 years and a policy on regularisation of daily wagers.Work in government offices was affected as employees of various departments responded to the strike call given by the Joint Consultative Committee (JCC), an apex body of various unions of government employees

Re exercise of option for fixation of revised pay

CCS (Revised Pay Rules) 2008 – Finance Ministry calls for Re-Exercise of option for fixation of revised pay in case of employees covered under the OM dated 19.3.2012

 Ministry of Finance has issued Office Memorandum No. 10/2/2011-E-III(A) dated 03.01.2013 for permitting Central Govt. employees under CCS ( Revised Pay Rules) 2008 who are covered under Office Memorandum No.10/02/2011-E.III/A dated 19.03.2012, i.e., employees for whom increment of pay in pre-revised scale had fallen due from February 2006 to June 2006 and eligible for one time increment as on 01.01.2006 in the pre-revised pay scale.

CGHS beneficiaries can perform investigation in Pvt. empanelled centre without any permission

The New Year has brought more cheer to about 80,000 beneficiaries of the Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) in the city as they are now not required to procure a referral letter from a senior authority to avail facilities at private centres.

Promotion in the same Grade Pay : One increment order issued

"Subject:- Fixation of pay on promotion to a post carrying higher duties and responsibilities but carrying the same grade pay.

The undersigned is directed to invite an attention to the provisions contained in Rule 13 of the CCS(RP) Rules, 2008, which provides for the method of fixation of pay on promotion on or after 1.1.2006 in case. inter-alia, of promotion from one grade pay to another. The Rule provides for fixation of pay by way of addition of one increment equal to 3% of the sum of the pay in the pay band and the existing grade pay (rounded off to the next multiple of 10)to the existing pay in the pay band and then fixing the pay in the promotional post as per the procedure prescribed therein...."

West Bengal issues 7% D.A. order from 1.1.2013

Ending all confusion over actual percentage of increase, the state Govt. yesterday issued 7% D.A. order for the Govt. employees with effect from 1st January 2013, taking the total Dearness Allowance to 52%.
Govt. has also issued order for teachers, non teaching staff, employees of local bodies, statutory bodies, undertakings etc vide a separate order.
