Karnataka Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda today(12/09) assured a delegation of the state government employees' Association that a decision would be made on payment of interim relief by this month end. The government was not in a position to take a decision on the demand for payment of interim relief to its employees due to the bye-election in Koppal assembly constituency scheduled for September 26, he told the delegation of the Karnataka State Government Employees Association, which called on him here. Gowda said he would hold discussions with the Finance Department on the Association demand for 30 per cent interim relief to about six crore employees. The state government has already set up the 5th Pay Commission for revision of salaries of its employees and it is yet to give its recommendations.

There are no six crore employees in Karnataka State Government (the entire population of karnataka is 6 crore) and the Government has already setup the 6th pay commission.
The news was published as it is in the PTI news. The correct figure may be six lac instead. Anyway thanks for the correction and we sincerely apologize the mistake.
