7% hike in DA for UP govt employees

Ahead of festive season, Uttar Pradesh government has approved a hike of seven per cent in dearness allowance to its employees on the lines of their counterparts in Central government. State government employees, staff of aided educational and technical institutes, local bodies and UGC 
payscale would get 72% DA in place of 65% with effect from July 1, a spokesperson said.

The decision would create an additional financial burden of Rs. 1028.74 crore annually.
The spokesman said that hiked DA between July 1 to November 30 would be deposited in the GPF of the employees and from December 1 cash payment would be done.
He said that the CM has directed that give seven per cent additional relief to family pensions and pensioners from July 1.
