There is widespread discussion among the West Bengal employees that there may be some good news in terms of D.A. today. Chief Minister of Bengal will address a meeting of the association of state Govt. employees today and it is very much expected that there will be an announcement of releasing a part of pending D.A.
While most of the states are paying D.A. at a much higher rate and some states have already implemented new pay scale for their employees, WB has always been a backbencher.
The pay commission formed to enhance the pay scale did not make any remarkable progress in last two years.
A court case for releasing of D.A is currently under hearing and the Chief Justice of Calcutta High Court has made some positive observation in this regard. So pressure is mounting on the ruling party and Government.
Let's wait and see whether the gap of pay is reduced today, at least to a small extent.
