Haryana to implement e pension scheme, credit pension to bank account

Haryana government would implement e Pension scheme for all those pensioners and family pensioners who have started drawing their pension on or after August 1 this year.

For all other pensioners or family pensioners who were already drawing pension through the existing system, the scheme would be extended in a phased manner as decided by the Finance Department from time to time, an official release said here today. 

It said that as per the new system for pensioners or family pensioners, the Principal Accountant General, Haryana, while issuing pension payment order to the District Treasury Officer, would mention on the PPO itself the bank account details and particular branch of the bank where the pensioner wants its pension to be credited.

However, the pensioner would be free to change bank details in future, if he/she so desires, it said.

The pensioner or family pensioner was free to opt for any empanelled bank with core banking facility for transfer and receipt of funds through Electronic Payment System.

The pension would be paid by the Treasury or Pension Disbursement Cell after deduction of tax by electronic transfer of the amount to the bank account of the pensioner.
