Punjab asks employees to file property returns

 To ensure clean, transparent and responsive governance in the state administration, the Punjab government has decided the filing of property returns by its employees mandatory.
 
A decision to this effect was taken by the Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal here in a meeting at Chief Minister’s Office this morning.
 Disclosing this here today a spokesperson of the Chief Minister’s Office said that Badal directed the Chief Secretary to immediately issue detailed instructions thereby asking all the employees to must file their property returns of the financial year ending March 31, positively by April 30 regularly.  
 
He also asked the Chief Secretary to amend the existing performas of ACRs thereby incorporating a new column for filing of property return.
 
The spokesperson further said that it would be compulsory on the part of the employees to file their property returns relating to the financial year 2011-12 by June 30, 2012.
The returns should be submitted by April 30 from next year onwards, he said.
