West Bengal declared holiday on 14th April'11.

Holiday declared on 14th April, 2011 on account of birthday of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar 
"The Governor is pleased to declare that all offices undr the Govt. of West Bengal Shall be closed on the 14th April, 2011 on account of birthday of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar."

Central Govt. has already notified it a holiday throughout the country under N.I. Act, 1881. So all establishments including banks will remain closed on 14th April 2011. The Central notification under Negotiable Instrument Act 1881 is linked in IBA website also.

Ys West Bengal has decleared 14th April as Holiday. But unfortunately those who are under N I Act (Bank, Insurance and other Mercentile firms)can not not enjoy it as Holiday. Because it is clearly written in the notification that under N I Act it is not a holiday.

I AM WORKING AT ARORAMATTHEY LTD.OUR CONCERN SAID THE COMPANY REMAIN OPEN ON 14/4/2011, THE BIRTH DAY OF RD.B.R.AMBEDKAR,WHERE THE GOV.OF INDIA DECLERED HOLIDAY UNDER NI ACT.IS IT RIGHT DESSISON.
