Himachal Pradesh released pay arrear.

Apart from not imposing any new tax, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal, who also holds the finance portfolio,  proposed release of pay arrears for employees and pensioners, besides regularisation of contract employees.
Partially meeting a long-pending demand of the employees, Dhumal announced release of full arrears of Class IV employees according to the 6th Pay Commission recommendations, 40 per cent for Class-III and 30 per cent for the officers. The pensioners will also get 40 per cent of the arrears. This will entail an expenditure of Rs. 550 crore. “Together with today’s announcement, the government has released 61 per cent of the arrears,” Dhumal announced in the House.
