I-T dept strikes Rs 50 crore deal with BSNL, gets Blackberry

The Income Tax department has struck an estimated Rs 50 crore deal with state owned telecom company BSNL to provide 51,000 mobile connections and one thousand high-end Blackberry phones for secure and fast communication amongst its officers and staff.

KERALA LAUNCHED GROUP PERSONAL ACCIDENT INSURANCE SCHEME FOR THE YEAR 2011

Government have decided to implement the Group Personal Accident Insurance Scheme through Kerala State Insurance Department for the year 2011 with certain modifications. As per the G.O the scheme has also been extended to the employees of all Public Sector Undertakings, Co-operative Institutions, autonomous bodies and other Government Institutions in addition to the categories of employees already covered under the scheme. The scheme shall come into force with effect from 01/01/2011.

State Bank staff to get more salary and pension, agreement signed.

SBI staff and officers will get their pension ceiling hiked. The salary will be 4% more. SBI staff Federation president Mr Bhupen Kalita informed this in the conference of SBI Council in Kolkata yesterday. An agreement has been signed in this regard recently.

"It has appeared in the newspapers columns that the Department of Public Enterprises (DPE) has worked out a proposal for giving incentives to officers, if they agree to serve in far-flung rural areas. In the Banking Industry, an officer of the Bank shall have to undergo a minimum of 2 years service in a rural branch or minimum service of 3 years in a rural and/or semi urban branch to become eligible for promotion from MMG Scale III to SMG Scale IV.

Armed forces grievances redressal panel set up by Supreme Court

In a far-reaching order, the Supreme Court today directed the Centre to set up within two months an Armed Forces Grievances Redressal Commission with retired SC Judge Kuldip Singh as Chairman and former Allahabad High Court Chief Justice SS Sodhi as Vice-Chairman.

Not satisfied with low pay hike, Mumbai civic employees threaten to go on strike

 Over one lakh employees of the local civic body have threatened to go on strike from November 21 as they are unhappy about the proposed hike in the salary.

Pay hike for Kerala Govt. employees .65% D.A. to be merged.

Finance Minister T M Thomas Isaac declared a pay revision for the government employees on Saturday.
Revised salary would be given to the employees from April 1 onwards, he added while inaugurating a seminar on ‘Development of Kerala and Our Economy’, organised by the Kerala NGO Association as a part of their state conference.
Finance Minister said that the pay scale will be revised with retrospective effect.

Google to give 10% hike to staff worldwide and $1,000.00 cash holiday bonus

Internet search titan Google Inc is planning to give a 10 per cent salary hike to all of its 23,000 employees across the world starting next year, says a media report.

Arrear released for Punjab University.

The Panjab University Vice-Chancellor Prof. R.C. Sobti urged the faculty and non-teaching employees of the University to work devotedly for the cause of university and the students with transparency and accountability.

Addressing two separate gatherings of the teachers and non-teaching employees to extend Diwali greetings, Prof. Sobti sought cooperation of the staff in maintaining the top ranking status of the university and work with honesty and sincerity considering their job meant for the service.

Prof. Sobti announced release of arrears to be paid to the teaching and non-teaching employees following the likely release of the grant to the university by the University Grants Commission shortly.

Punjab revises allowances for State Govt staff in various categories

Punjab has begun implementing 5th Pay Commission recommendations. The Punjab Government has revised the Scooter and Motor-Cycle allowance of Assistant Sub-Inspectors, Sub-Inspectors, Inspectors and Cycle allowance to the Head Constables and Constables posted in the Police Department & C.I.D. Punjab besides Drivers working in the various departments and offices except Secretariat Offices and other certain posts in various departments would get special allowance. All allowances revised from October 01, 2010. In this regard notifications has been issued.

LIC employees PLLI cleared, Festival Allowance hiked.

PLLI-3%, Festival Advance-20000 declared

1. PLLI @ 3% OF PRE-REVISED INDIVIDUAL ANNUAL PAY AS ON Aug 2007 APPROVED.
2. Festival Advance increased to maximum of 20000 for Class I, others maximum 17000.
3. How to calculate PLLI:
Take your August 2007 8asic+DA(before wage-revision). E.g. If your August 2007 8asic=12000 & DA= 3000 then 15000 multiply by 12 into 3%=5400.

Kendriya Vidyalaya teachers' transfer policy amended

The Amendments in the transfer guidelines regarding Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan Schools were approved today[03/11]. The approval was undertaken in the 89th Meeting of the Board of Governors of the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, chaired by Shri Kapil Sibal, Union Minister for Human Resource Development.

SBI employees to go for 2 day strike from Nov 25

About 2.5 lakh SBI employees have threatened to go on a two-day countrywide strike from November 25 to press for wage- related issues. “We are demanding early disbursal of undistributed amount for SBI employees pending since the wage revision agreement was reached,” G.D. Nadaf, general secretary of the All India State Bank Officers’ Federation, said.

Kerala Pay commission to submit report this month

The Ninth pay commission to revise salaries of state employees and teachers would submit its report in November. The state government is planning revised wages from April 2011. The state government has also asked the commission to give a report on the pay revisions in universities, high court and water authority.

Haryana Govt enhances DA rate

Chandigarh, Nov 2 (PTI) The Haryana Government has enhanced the rate of dearness allowance (DA) payable to its employees on unrevised scales from existing 87 to 103 per cent with effect from July 1.

Stepping up of pay in respect of direct recruited juniors : Clarification issued by I.T. Dept.

Regarding the next instalment of DA which is to be announced from Jan 2011,numerous speculations are pouring in.The DA percentage will be calculated as per the AICPIN from September 2010 to December 2010. If the AICPIN stands at 179 points or more,there are chances of getting 10% DA from Jan 2011.
