Andhra Pradesh Pay Commission report submitted. Minimun Basic Pay Rs 6700 and Maximum Rs 55660.

The Pay Commission for Government employees, including teachers has recommended a minimum pay of Rs 6,700 and a maximum of Rs 55,660 per month effective from July 1, 2008 with a fitment benefit of 27 per cent.

The pay commission report tabled in the State Assembly and Legislative Council on 11th of this month, stated that the new scales were evolved by merging the Dearness Allowance with Basic pay as on July 1, 2008.

The span of scales increased to 40 up to Grade XVI from the present level of 33 with suitable increases in the higher scales to avoid stagnation and in the unlikely event of stagnation, three stagnation increaments were recommended.

Regarding Dearness Allowance, the commission stated that the existing practice of following the Union Government in sanctioning DA twice a year be continued. As the Central rate of DA were based on DA merged scales of January one, 2006 and the DA as on July 7,2008 merged in the scales proposed for the State Government employees, the Commission recommends a conversion factor of 0.856 for sanction of DA from Jaunuary one, 2009.

The Commission adopted the existing rate of House Rent Allowance (HRA) at 30 per cent, 20 per cent, 12.5 per cent and ten per cent for different places and increased the ceiling from Rs 6,000 to Rs 12,000 in the case of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation(GHMC) and Rs 8,000 for the rest of the state, pay scales of some categories of employees in revenue, commercial taxes, excise and transport were improved.

The pay scales of uniformed services, including Police has been improved in certain categories and the existing parties were broadly maintained between Police and other uniformed services. The pay scales of teachers were ratinalised and improved based on the Regrouping done in 1982. The scales of veterinarians and Ayush Doctors improved and relatives established between Ayush doctors and veterinarians.

On the Automatic Advancement Scheme, the pay commission recommended increases in pay at intervals of 8, 16 and 24 years.
