West Bengal declares Rs 1000/- as festival bonus.

Calcutta, Sept. 3: Finance minister Asim Dasgupta today announced that 9.5 lakh state government employees, panchayat and civic staff, teachers of government and government-aided schools would get a puja bonus of Rs 1,000. “Similarly, pensioners will be given ex-gratia of Rs 400 as earlier. The move would benefit 4.3 lakh pensioners,” he said.

Employees whose gross monthly income does not exceed Rs 16,000 will be entitled to the bonus. For those with income more than this, the government will offer them a festival advance of Rs 1,000. “However, it will be left to them to avail of the advance,” Dasgupta said.
