6% Dearness Allowance for Central Govt. Employees w.e.f 01/01/2009 : Order Issued.

The much awaited Office memorandum for the revision of Dearness Allowance with effect from Jan-09 has been issued by Department of Expenditure.

With effect to this order the dearness allowance stands to 22 % with effect from 1st January, 2009.  The order clearly indicates that arrear amount of D.A. payable from January 2009, will be disbursed only after the disbursement of salary for the current month, that means the employees will get the arrear in April.

The hike in D.A. increases the Transport Allowance as well after the introduction of new pay structure of Central Govt. staff.
