West Bengal Pay Commission Report : More News.

According to the report submitted by the fifth Pay Commission for the state on 12thFeb’2009. The Commission stated the West Bengal is among the eight states out of twenty eight who did not pay salary as per fifth Central Pay Commission. The other seven states are AP,HP,Assam,Punjab, Kerala, Karnataka and Meghalaya.

The Commission also narrated that few states including Orissa, Rajasthan and Tamilnadu has already increased the salary as per sixth Central Pay commission.

As per Mr Malay Mukherjee, leader of Confederation of Employees Union, the revised salary of the state Govt. employees will be far below the Central staff. Arrear of 27 months has already been vanished. The organization has called strike on 4th March in protest.

As per the report , the revised pay will be fixed as under :-

Basic pay as on 1.1.2006 X 1.86 and that will be set in the corresponding Pay Band.

Add Grade Pay. This will be the Total Pay.

Gross Salary : Total Pay +15% HRA + Medical Allowance (300/-)+Dearness Allowance (16%) [As on Date]

The commission has not recommended any Transport Allowance or Children Education Allowance and did not increase the HRA as per Central structure.

As per Confederation of Employees Union the demand of West Bengal Govt. that their employees are the best paid in India is not at all genuine.
