CBEC rules out higher grade pay to ACP Inspectors of C.Ex and Customs

In its latest letter dated 11.02.09 addressed to all Chief Commissioners of Customs and Central Excise, the Central Board of Excise and Customs has negated the grade pay of Rs.5400 specifically to the Officers who have attained the pay scale of Rs.7500-12000 (Pre revised) by way of ACP, though they have completed 4 years in the said scale.

This clarification has caused distress among the concerned officers on account of the fact that they were not promoted to the next grade even after the completion of 17 years.

We hope the modified ACP Scheme which is under the consideration of DOPT would address these issues.
